• Matt Fury's Music

Forged in and around the underground metal scene of New Orleans in the late '80s, Matt Fury is a Texas-born guitarist whose career spans more than three decades of uncompromising heavy instrumental music. After cutting his teeth in the NOLA metal scene, Matt returned home to Houston, Texas, where he founded Fury in 1989, a project that would become known for its relentless energy, live performances and ferocious guitar work.

A move to Austin, Texas, soon followed, where Fury became a staple and driving force of the reginal metal circuit. The band headlined countless shows, earned a fiercely loyal following, and shared stages with genre-defining acts including Pantera, Exodus and Anvil. Matt's raw, aggressive, technical and precision-driven guitar playing, cemented his reputation as a formidable live performer and guitarist.

Now based in the mountains of Colorado after 30+ years in Austin, Tx. Matt continues to teach guitar, record and take on select hired-gun recording gigs. Focused exclusively on instrumental metal, his current work is rooted in Technical Death Metal, and reflects a lifelong pursuit of intensity, precision, and evolution.
